Las Vegas Corporate Event Photographer Communication is Key

What should a Las Vegas corporate event photographer do when they have been given a contact? The photographer may think that this is a simplistic question but it really isn’t. Some of the things the photographer needs to communicate might not be quite what he or she thinks.

While it is important for the Las Vegas corporate event photographer to remember conversational etiquette it isn’t the only factor. The photographer is going to want to find out exactly what the potential client wants. One of the best ways to do this is actually a trick journalists learn early in their training. It’s called the five Ws and the H.

The Las Vegas corporate event photographer needs to found out why pictures are needed. Are they promotional or for their clients? Should the photographer concentrate on team building or just getting as many people photographed as possible.

Naturally, the Las Vegas corporate event photographer will be asking when and where two more of the Ws. The fifth W is what. Here is where getting a shoot list will come in handy. The photographer may be shooting at a trade show. The number of pictures of each item and which items are important are things the photographer are going to want to know.

So, what happens if the Las Vegas corporate event photographer doesn’t pay attention to these details? It’s called a miscommunication. The photographer will have to more or less read the client’s mind as to what they want. It may also mean that the price quoted for the shoot is either too high or too low. Lastly, it could very easily lead to an angry phone call and a lost client. No one wants any of these outcomes so remember the journalism trick; five Ws and the H.
