Tips For Las Vegas Corporate Photographers – Shoot Raw, Unless The Photos Are Same Day
It can be confusing for a Las Vegas corporate photographer to decide whether to shoot in RAW or Jpeg when working. If you’ve been a professional photographer for any length of time, you’re probably using Adobe Lightroom to edit your photos in. (If you’re not, you really should be.)
Adobe Lightroom is ideal for Las Vegas corporate photographers because Lightroom extracts all the little details in the photo. You simply can’t get the same level of detail from Jpeg as you can from RAW. While RAW may take longer to process, even if you are an experienced Las Vegas corporate photographer, the finished product will look a lot better.
The only time a Las Vegas corporate photographer should avoid using RAW is if the shots are needed by the client the same day. While RAW looks much better, many Las Vegas photographers have found themselves waiting as long as 5 hours for those photos to finish exporting. That’s too long if you’re hoping to get them edited and back to the client quickly.
RAW has a lot of benefits over Jpeg besides good editing. It captures all the levels of brightness in a photo, allowing for smoother transitions. Every photographer knows that smoothness is always better. It also allows you to correct over or underexposed photos, giving you a second chance to repair an otherwise great photo.
If you are a professional Las Vegas photographer, you should definitely make RAW your choice unless the client wants the photos back too quickly to allow it.
