Capturing your Big Day with a Las Vegas Wedding Photographer

You’re engaged!! Congratulations!

Getting in touch with a Las Vegas wedding photographer and making some sort of commitment with him or her ahead of time gives you the opportunity to organize a photoshoot for the engagement session—an intimate moment that will certainly be fawned over in the years to come.  Like they say, “a stitch in time saves nine.” The earlier you employ the services of a Las Vegas wedding photographer, the better for you. Waiting until the last second to turn in an essay is okay, but procrastinating your wedding photos will result in a multitude of problems. We recommend you take your engagement photos 1 year or 6 months prior to your wedding date.

Planning Ahead of Time

While 6 months-to-a-year may seem like a long time, it’s better to stay on top of your wedding plans. We were once contacted to do a shoot that required a bit of finagling on our part. Three months to the big day and three months since we had taken the initial engagement photos, the couple had come to us with a bunch of new ideas. Luckily for them, there was a large enough gap that allowed their new ideas to come to fruition.  While skill with a camera is crucial for capturing the perfect moments between you and your partner, it’s not the only necessity when hiring a Las Vegas wedding photographer. Hiring a personable, charismatic photographer is important because they’ll have the ability to make their subjects feel comfortable. You and your guests want to be captured in the best way possible, which is where we come in.

A Las Vegas Photographer Undercover

One of the many gems in Las Vegas is the Springs Preserve, a plot of land dedicated to showcasing the wildlife that thrives in the Mojave Desert. Complete with plants, a butterfly exhibit, and other natural life, the Springs Preserve offers a photographer a variety of excellent photographs. This last week, one of the photographers for Christian Purdie Photography was sent “undercover” to take pictures of a marriage proposal. Although it went very well, there are a few tips that should be kept in mind for future reference, especially if you’re going undercover.

Staying Organized as a Las Vegas Photographer

Whether you’re on a shoot for an individual portrait, or photographing an entire family, it’s crucial to stay organized. Not just organized with your gear, but organized with your time. What good is an organized photography bag if you don’t make the event on time because you forgot to schedule it in a calendar? Chaos builds off of chaos, which is why if you remain organized in the first place, you won’t have to deal with any large problems (within your control) at a shoot.
