Event Photographer | The Little Happy Medium That Could

Special Event Photographer

A happy medium in photography is simply referred to as that picture that brings happiness to the face of the client and anyone who sees it. This means that the picture is neat, perfect, and acceptable.

A photographer needs to take a lot of shots knowing that at least one of those would be great. Nothing is perfect and no one can take the perfect picture but then, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Once the client approves of a photograph, then the photographer has achieved a near-perfect job.

The Las Vegas Special Event Photographer recommends shooting lots of photos in order to have plenty to choose from. This is particularly a great strategy for photographers who are just coming into the business.

The problem with that, however, is that the editing process is nightmarish. You would have to edit lots and lots of pictures. That shows that the photography business is not meant for lazy people but for hardworking people with a deep passion for the work.

Photography is an art small great arts require passion. Without passion, mediocrity is the consequence.

If you are to deliver 40 photographs to your client, you definitely do not want to soft through over 400 photos looking for the happy medium. While it is challenging to edit that amount of photos, it is still better to convert 400 photographs into 40 that it is to salvage 45 shots into 40.

How is this so? With 400 photographs, you can easily pick the best 40 photos but from 45, it is not so easy since the majority of the pictures would look the same.

Getting a happy medium actually takes time, patience, and practice. With those there attributes, the sky is the limit. The pictures you pick after editing will certainly wow your clients and make them call you back for more in the nearest future.

The Las Vegas Special Event Photographer recommends studying the works of top photographers in order to know how to pick the best photos for your clients. It’s all in the details.

Of course, a client might think differently but photographers, without a doubt, know better than the clients. With your professionalism, you will be able to convince your client that some particular pictures are better than others.

If you are not so sure about the ones to pick, you can bring in another eye to check it out, preferably someone in the same business or an expert in photography. It could be the editor yourself hire orientation to your assistant. That will even make the sorting done faster.

It is easy to lose track of the purpose of the sorting so you need to remind yourself that you are looking for the happy medium- the pictures out of many pictures that are enough to make the client happy.

Remember that it is better to overshoot than to undershoot. With ‘overshooting’, you have more choices unlike when you ‘undershoot’. In the end, you will be able to pick the happy medium photographs.
